THE METHOD OF DILEMMA ZONES AS ONE OF THE TOOLS OF TRAFFIC SAFETY MANAGEMENT ON CERTAIN SECTIONS OF ROADS

Oleksandr Melnychenko Valentin Osipov

Abstract

The paper proposes a method of using the theory of dilemma zones when predicting accidents on highway sections with specific road conditions as a regulator of the "driver-road" subsystem. The classification of existing methods of research on the collision of motor vehicles has been carried out. The main sections of highways that are potential locations of dilemma zones are identified (it is proposed to add new criteria to the concept), the sections are combined into one definition - TN - a point of danger, where the driver will be forced to make a management decision. On the basis of theoretical investigations, the situations at the TN with PPZSh and the stopping places of public transport vehicles were simulated, it was proposed to make changes to the regulatory documentation regulating the sphere of road traffic safety in Ukraine
