The basis of any branch of the national economy is educational and scientific factors, the development of which determines the level, efficiency of functioning, compliance with modern trends and challenges. The National Transport University has created a joint Department of Transport Infrastructure Objects System Design and Geodesy, which combines the experience of educational and scientific activities of units that determine important areas of development of the road industry. The ways of creating and developing the departments of road design, geodesy and airports, the corresponding scientific schools and achievements that are the basis for the successful further development of the new department are analyzed
